Timing - Blackpool to Manchester

Travel time for a taxi from Blackpool to Manchester Airport is typically 60 to 90 minutes.

It can be longer during heavy traffic or from over Wyre, Fleetwood or Lytham and can be longer for return Manchester Airport to Blackpool taxi.

 

Always follow your airline’s guidance on how early you need to be at the airport before your flight.

 

As a general guide, you will need to have checked in and be ready to go through security at least 2 hours before your flight departure time.

  • International airport serving the Greater Manchester area and Northwest England. 

  • Third busiest airport in the United Kingdom in terms of passengers (the busiest outside of London). It ranked 19th busiest in Europe in 2023, serving approximately 28.1 million passengers.

  • Terminal 1, 2 & 3 all feature in the bottom 5 of the 2023 Which rankings.

  • The airport comprises three passenger terminals (Terminals 1, 2, and 3) and a cargo terminal.

  • Offers flights to 199 destinations.

  • Parking costs circa £142 per week for direct terminal access, plus fuel costs and risk of damage to your vehicle.

  • Drop off charges (all included in our price):

    • £5 for five minutes

    • £6 for 10 minutes

    • £12 for 1 hour

  • Blackpool North Train service starts at 5:00 AM, too late for many flights. You also need to get a taxi to the station; your train could be cancelled or overcrowded.

Pickup Instructions from Manchester Terminals

  1. The day before your travel, you will receive a text message with details about your driver and vehicle.

  2. For your pick-up, we aim to arrive 20 minutes after your plane has landed to minimize wait times. We will be tracking your flight throughout the day to ensure a timely arrival, so you won’t be kept waiting.

  3. Once the driver arrives, he will wait just outside the airport and contact you.

  4. Please call him once you have cleared passport control and collected your luggage. At that point, the driver will move to the pick-up zone. This process helps us reduce parking fees, allowing us to offer great value rides.

  5. The driver will text you specific instructions on how to reach the pick-up zone based on your terminal. If you find this process daunting or are not confident, please let me know, and we arrange for the driver to meet you at a convenient point within the terminal;

    • Outside Spar in Terminal 1,

    • Outside Starbucks in Terminal 2,

    • Outside the Hangar restaurant in Terminal 3.
